forum+ is proud to be participating in National Hate Crime Awareness Week, taking place from 11th – 18th October. The national campaign has been marked since 2012 and provides the opportunity to raise awareness of hate crime, encourage reporting and to stand in solidarity with those who need our ongoing support. Hate crimes are crimes committed against someone because of their race, religion, belief, disability, gender identity, or sexual orientation, and can include verbal abuse, intimidation, threats, harassment, assault, bullying, or damage to property.
At forum+ we stand against hate and offer support to victims of hate crime. We’re proud to work in Camden and Islington, two boroughs with a long history of inclusion and commitment to LGBT rights. Hatred and discrimination will never be tolerated here. If you have been affected by LGBT hate crime, or know someone who has, we can support you. Contact forum+ to make an appointment to discuss your options with an experienced case worker, or report a crime to us without the need to involve the police by using our non-police reporting scheme.
forum+ can work with you in reporting LGBT hate crime to the police and relevant council departments. If forum+ can’t support you directly we will put you in contact with agencies and anti-hate charities that can provide further help and guidance. Throughout National Hate Crime Awareness Week (NHCAW) 2025 forum+ is engaging in action and education, encouraging reporting of hate crime and inviting everyone to join us in our mission to build a safer, more supportive and cohesive society.
On Tuesday 14th October all the community is invited to attend our NHCAW Online Information Event. The event will explore the origin and importance of National Hate Crime Awareness Week, the definition of a hate crime, LGBT rights and the law in the UK. We will share information on the work of forum+ and and after the main presentation attendees will be invited to share comments, contributions and ask questions.
This online event is an open and inclusive space for people from LGBT communities, and allies, who are interested in learning more about who are interested in learning more about hate crime, LGBT+ rights and the law in the UK, and how we can all support LGBT inclusion and stand against hate. We will join together on Zoom and places can be booked via Eventbrite – www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/national-hate-crime-awareness-week-online-information-event-tickets-1755770359409
