forum+ is proud to be participating in National Hate Crime Awareness Week, from 10th – 17th October. The national campaign has been marked since 2012 and provides the opportunity to raise awareness of hate crime, encourage reporting and to stand in solidarity with those who need our ongoing support. Hate crimes are crimes committed against someone because of their race, religion, belief, disability, gender identity, or sexual orientation, and can include verbal abuse, intimidation, threats, harassment, assault, bullying, or damage to property.
At forum+ we stand against hate and offer support to victims of hate crime. We’re proud to work in Camden and Islington, two boroughs with a long history of inclusion and commitment to LGBT rights. Hatred and discrimination will never be tolerated here. If you have been affected by LGBT hate crime, or know someone who has, contact forum+ and we can work you in reporting to the police and relevant council departments. If forum+ can’t support you directly we will put you in contact with agencies and anti-hate charities that can provide further help and guidance.
Throughout National Hate Crime Awareness Week (NHCAW) 2026 our charity is engaging in action and education, encouraging reporting of hate crime and inviting everyone to join us in our mission to build a safer, more supportive and cohesive society. On Friday 16th we will join community partners at the Arsenal Community Hub where local primary and secondary school pupils will learn about hate crime, understand the impact it can have and how we can all encourage respect, inclusion and positive community relations.
On Thurdsay 15th October all the community is invited to attend the forum+ NHCAW Online Information Event. The session will include a presentation on the definition of hate crime and an update on LGBT rights in the UK, including the latest LGBT hate crime statistics released from the Home Office. We will share information on forum+ support services and attendees will be invited to ask questions and share comments.
